Services

I provide treatment for clients aged 18 years and over with a range of presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, alcohol/gambling problems and stress.

I have additional training and substantial experience in the following areas:

Emergency Service Workers, Veterans & Current Serving ADF

I started working with Emergency Services Workers, Veterans and Current Serving ADF in 2009 at the Psychological Trauma Recovery Service and continued this work when moving across to private practice.

I provide treatment and support for a variety of presentations, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, anger, alcohol and gambling, workplace stress, adjustment to physical injury and chronic pain, and role and retirement transitions.

I have additional training in Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) for the treatment of PTSD.

I am a registered provider with BUPA (ADF), DVA, Comcare and Worksafe (Vic).

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

I began working with OCD in 2014 at the inpatient OCD Program at The Melbourne Clinic, working intensively with clients for 3 weeks using predominantly Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).

In my private practice I support clients to reduce symptoms of OCD using ERP, Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness approaches.

Single Incident Trauma

Over my career I have worked with many people affected by serious workplace accidents, traffic accidents and natural disasters (eg. bushfire, flood).

Following trauma some people will develop symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and I have additional training in Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) for the treatment of PTSD.

I am also able to support people experiencing other responses to trauma, such as depression, anxiety, anger, panic attacks, increased drug and alcohol use, avoidance and withdrawing from life, and difficulty with physical injury and chronic pain.

Treatment and support can also focus on understanding the personal impact of a traumatic event. Trauma can leave you feeling unsettled and thinking differently about yourself, other people and your place in the world. Treatment can explore the changes that can occur following trauma, such as:

 - not feeling as safe as you used to

 - finding it harder to trust other people

 - feeling like you have little control or influence

 - finding it hard to feel close to or connect with other people

 - finding it hard to care for yourself

 - feeling unsure of your own identity

I am a registered provider with Worksafe (Vic), TAC and Medicare.
